Explorer.exe Usage Issue
Just recently, my computers been having some laggish issues with Explorer.exe. Dont understand what is causing this to happen now though. I havent done anything diffrent then what I normally do. No issued sites, ect.
Randomly explorer.exe will jump to 75% or more for a second or two.
Now I do understand this doesnt seem like much of an issue, but its extremely noticable. Playing games and such, I can tell when it happens. And it does happen often. Every minute or so it happens.
I dont understand what is causing this issue either. Ive tried all the basics of fixing any issues..
- Virus Scan (In Normal and Safe Mode)
- Adware scans and such, more then one product.
- ect..
I dont see why this just started, but its getting really annoying trying to do anything and this happens.
System Specs:
- Windows XP Professional
- AMD Athlon XP 2600+ (Barton Core) (Running at 1.92GHz -- L1:64KB L2:512KB)
- 640MB DDRAM (Kingston)
As I said before, this only just started happening. My install date for Windows is May 2005 and Ive never had and issue before.

Re: Explorer.exe Usage Issue
Unplug all of your drives except the master hard drive and see if it still does it.
Also, are you on a network? Networks can cause lag occasionally depending on how they are configured.

Re: Explorer.exe Usage Issue
Well, as I said before this just started happening randomly. My network hasnt been changed since I first hooked it up and configured it. I dont use much in my comp either as in extra drives and such either.
So I dont see whats causing the lag to happen. It seems to happen more often when I have a game running then it does when Im just using the computer for regular things.
