    VHS to Computer/DVD?

What is a relatively cheap yet effective method of copying a VHS to a computer to burn either release online or put on DVDs? I've found some stuff on Newegg that's not at all expensive, but I'm not sure if they'll even work or what kind of quality they would give.

Any one have any suggestions/experience doing this?

I use an old Dazzle DVC 80 USB thingy. You can find em pretty cheap at lots of places (theres even a higher number model number of it, not quite sure what it is though), and lots of other brands of devices that do the same thing. Probably wouldnt recommend the Dazzle DVC 80, though, since it was made well before WinXP even came out. Basically, it has rca inputs, just plug in the cables to it and it recognizes it as a video device, so you can use it in lots of video capture programs. I had a problem with audio on it, however, it wouldnt ever sync up right, but I hooked the audio straight into my soundcard (using a little adapter similar to the one here) and it worked fine after that.
