IIRC, GMail sms signup has been available for a few months already... but that was only USA. They have now made it available for other countries.

Other than the fact that GMAIL is Google Mail, and Google.com is their trademark? Think what you want. Hope you're not going JR on us, now...

Re: Gmail - 2.6G (Now Open)
some of the good things about GMail:
you dont notice the ads...
you dont wait ages for a bloated page with graphic ads to load up...
you get rtf formatting for messages...
replies to messages are shown as conversations (one of the better features)...
don't need to worry about deleting to save space...
you have google search to search through your inbox...
you can put labels on messages (can't do this in hotmail)...
you can save/load contacts as .csv files...
you can send to groups of people...
you can get RSS feeds at the top of the window...
automatic spam/phishing detection that actually works...
mail filters...
free POP access and forwarding...
save draft messages...
and more...

no... but it would be nice to...
are you using dialup?
GMail loads for me in less than 1 second (i have cable broadband).
even if it loads slowly, i cant see that it would be slower than hotmail/yahoo...

fahad, please spell out your words. I can't understand what you are trying to say without reading your posts over and over again. Typing like that not only makes it harder for people to read your posts, but makes you appear less intelligent. I am not trying to flame you, just giving you some advice... but I do strongly suggest you take it.

Most of that is offered by Hotmail... 2GB space? Perhaps, but why would ever need to keep 10 years old mail anyway? I do cleanup my mailbox (personal and business) once a week so what's the big deal about "don't have to delete..." I don't egt it ???
Also, fo me Google is search engine only - that's it - I don't care much what they offere beyond that.

If you love Firefox, you'll love GMail (or Google Mail)! For me, GMail and Firefox is built for speed.
Tip: If the standard interface takes it slow to load, use the basic HTML interface. When I use dial-up, basic HTML is faster than the standard.

ever heard of ajax? That's the sweet thing about gmail. You don't have to post back to their servers on every click. When was the last time you used it?
