    Game code bank?

I think there should be a game code bank for all the game related programs. There are plenty of things involved in a game, and I think it will be very useful for many members.

    What do you guys think?

    Re: Game code bank?

I think what damasterjo is trying to say is that VBforums is missing a forum that has game related SAMPLE code. Not demos. Samples such as machine gun fire, BSP trees, billboarding, animation, transparency, alpha blending, etc. It would be nice to have a forum on that. It doesn't really belong in game demos.

I guess too that the code bank could be for all languages, and in the thread tiltle you specify the language and nature of the code. Since the games and graphics is mostly vb programmers, this would be good for all languages, based on if anyone submits anything. But if we get this going I will post some submissions (eventually).

There should be a sub forum shortcut to that thread in the Game Programming section as well.

Thanks Marty for getting the new forum up.

Why? There is no shortcut to any of the other CodeBank sections in their corresponding Q&A sections.

I guess you're right. But it was just a suggestion since the forum is new and all.

At one point, the entire codebank was new, but it didn't take long for folks to catch one.

Now, for all of you gambling folks out there, what is the over/under on how many days it will take before I find the first "How do I go this in my Game" question thread in the Gaming CodeBank section?

    Re: Game code bank?

If the new forum "Codebank - Game Programming" is for any programming language, then It would make sence to require to put the programming language in the title of the thread.

The first thread there does not say in what language the code is.

    Just an opinion...

I think this is an excellent idea. I am soliciting some opinions from the Gamers on what I should put in a "Please Read Before Posting" thread in that section, and this will definately make it.

If you, or anyone else, has a suggestion, please post it here.

    Thanks.
