Well, I went from Windows Server 2003, because although it hadnt happened on this install, lsass.exe ALWAYS crashes about 20 mins into boot, and It's not the sasser virus btw, so I went over to Linux and well, there we have it

Naw, live dangerously. If you get allot of porn in your email then you will have to worry. Its supposed to come in an email disguised as some kind of porn offer. The virus will run every month on the 3rd unless its cleaned.

Re: Another damn virus.
I can't beleive I'm telling you this, but use the free index sites. They get paid per click; so they won't have alternative motives to offer you free... entertainment. P2p sites are a breeding ground to pick something up. All someone has to do is encapsulate a file and leave it in their shared. As soon as you search for... Whatever it is you're into, you might end up requesting a virus instead of accidently getting one.

Re: Another damn virus.
The funny thing about this virus is that Symantec doesn't look phased at all:

Even small virus' that receive virtually no media attention pop it up to a two.

Here's an extract from an email I received this morning (Feb. 4th):
If you upgrade to [product] Antivirus before Feb. 3, it will detect and remove existing BlackWorm infections and prevent future infections.
They've got good timing!
