Package created using P&D in XP SP 2 can't be installed in XP SP1
Hi Everyone,
I've created a setup package of VB Program using P&D in Windows XP service pack 2 computer. Then I tried to install the setup package into windows XP service pack 1 computer, however error message was prompted out said "Some of the system files is outdated", and installation was canceled.
Could you guide how to create a setup package from XP SP2 which can be succcessfully installed into XP SP1?? and also into different platforms, such as NT, 2000.
Many thanks buddy,
Montana

How was it canceled? By you or was it mandetitory? It should just be stating that they need to be updated as SP1 files are older then SP2's.

Re: Package created using P&D in XP SP 2 can't be installed in XP SP1
Hi Buddy,
Yes, message box was prompted out asking whether to update the system, and have to restart if yes. However when I choose "Yes" to restart and update, none of update was performed.
But when I removed "VB6 Runtime and OLE Automation" during creating the package, the package created was successfully installed into XP SP1 computer, problem of system needs to be updated didn't show up.
But one more problem was faced, when go to report created using Crystal Report 8.5, error occured and prompted out message "Physical Database is not found". Making a realible package really give me a headache. Please guide me buddy.
Many thanks,
Montana

There is also a link somewhere oin this forum about the updating issue. Maybe a search will bring it up.
