saw the movie "Turtles can Fly"

    Have you seen this movie?
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0424227/

Saw it this weekend and thought it was brilliant.

In case you're not familiar, it's about some Iraqi-Kurdish refugee children in a refugee camp on the Iraq-Turkey border. They spend their time collecting old land mines from the fields of the residents. (I guess left there after the Iran-Iraq war). Many of them are missing arms and legs.

This movie takes place on the eve of the American invasion into Iraq which serves to lift their spirits a little, but not nearly enough to overcome the hardships of their daily lives and the nightmare of past experiences.

It is a joint venture of French, Iranian and Iraqi movie companies. Not an uplifting movie but well worth seeing.

    It's turtles - all the way down . . . .

It's turtles! And it's all the way down

I haven't actually seen it but my mother has and that's enough to make me believe that I have too.
