    Drive Switch

I recently got a new hard drive, and wanted to make it my main hard drive (the one windows is installed on). I made the switch and installed windows on the new hard drive, but now I want all my old computer settings and such back. They're still on the old drive, which is set as a secondary hard drive for windows. Is it possible to copy all data from my old drive to the new one? I was hoping I would be able to do something like renaming the windows folder and then copying the whole old drive over to my new one, renaming the folders and rebooting, but will that work? Or is there some program I can get to copy everything over? Thanks.

Find your profile within the /Documents and Settings/user_name

Try copying that from the old drive to the new drive... You will retain your old profile, so icons, start menu, etc...

Not sure of any, don't think there is any, methods of copying Xp specific option settings from one installation to another.

But since you have to re-install all ur games, apps, etc anyway due to new installation = blank registry, you might as well reset all your settings as well.

So, would copying all the data over like I was saying destroy something?
