[RESOLVED] weird hardrive

hi guys this isnt really a problem more of a weird senario of anything, i have a 40 gb hardrive that failed in my old computer (was the slave drive), and now i put it in my server(as the slave also) and its works fine i get an error when i boot up saying " emminent drive falure hit f1 to boot so i hit f1 and it boots into to windows and i can access the 40 gb no problem save stuff and everything its working perefctly its even partitioned for me its really cool any thoughts on why it started working ? you guys are the smart ones

Its about to die... so be careful.
In other words it had the S.M.A.R.T feature turned on, and it knows something isn't right.

alright i've got my os on another drive anyway so i should be fine

Get all the files you can backed up, if the drive fails you're out of there... lol.

lol i got 2 hardrives 1 with my os and then theres the 40 gb

I know, but has the other drive got all your files on it as well ? if not, then you'll lose all your data... lol

no.no the faling drive is blank i just formated it i was gonna use it for my ftp server but now that i know its more and likely gonna crash i wont bother thanks

Rule of thumb, if a drive says its going to fail, its going to fail, its a case of how soon
