I am not a programmer & need help
I am not a programmer & need help. I am not a programmer I am trying to have someone write a custom Viral Marketing Script for one of my existing web sites. I don't know how to tell people what language requirements would be as I don't have a clue but here is what I am looking for :
I am looking for a Viral Marketing Script that I can give away to people who have ordered 5 or more vehicle web-address-signs from either of my sites.
My customers would install the script on their own sites that would supply them with valuable information about how their site visitors actually found their site.
The script would have to be easy to install by any of my customers
and include options in addition to Internet related options - ie.,
Search Engines, E zine, Tell-A-Friend, etc. Mostly my customers are
small businesses with a web presence and direct sales people like
real estate agents, Realtors (R) and Insurance agents, so options
as to How You Found My Site would include more local marketing strategies, among others :
- Open House
- Past Customer Referred
- Property Brochure Box
- Vehicle Web-Address-Sign
Ideally, in order for the person who has installed the free script on their site to receive the maximum value from the script, each option would also allow the site visitor to explain further by
entering info into a text box.
If a site visitor does check off Vehicle Web-Address-Sign as one of the options then I would like a text box to come up in a new window that would ask them if they would like to be able to take advantage of the same Marketing Tool and learn more about Vehicle Web-Address-Signs, with Yes or No boxes.
If they indicate Yes, then a new window would open up for one of my 4 sites where they can learn more about our signs and purchase them but only after they leave the site they are currently on.
Purchasers of 5 or more of my signs from any of my 4 sites would be installing a free script on their own site that would allow their visitors and customers to learn more about our signs and hopefully purchase a sign or two for themselves. Viral Marketing.
I need to be able to communicate with any selected programmer in English and by phone to make sure they understand what I want and so I thoroughly understand all that is involved in the programming.
It doesn't seem to me to be that complex, but again, I am NOT a programmer and maybe it's more complicated than I think.
What kind of a script(s) is required to get what I want?
Is it a complex scripting and programming challenge?
I think it's worth about $300 - $500 but I don't know.
I would like to be able to communicate with a programmer in English and by phone so I know what's involved and they know what I want. Is this possible?
Thank you for any help.

Re: I am not a programmer & need help
You have a better chance at RentACoder.com than here, since a large percentage of the programmers here wouldn't have time to take on a project like this.

Re: I am not a programmer & need help
Thanks for your reply but I wasn't thinking that a programmer on this forum would actually want to do such a little project. I was more looking here for more information about what is involved in a script like this as far as the types of programming required and a ballpark of what I might be expected to have to pay.

Re: I am not a programmer & need help
Expected to pay would depend on who is doing the stuff for you. My suggestion to you is to look for a college student who can do this kind of stuff.
How much will you be willing to shell out for this?
Everything that has a computer in will fail. Everything in your life, from a watch to a car to, you know, a radio, to an iPhone, it will fail if it has a computer in it. They should kill the people who made those things.- 'Woz'
