Do you have SP2? It includes Windows Firewall, and you can disallow Limewire there.

Use port forwarding in your router to route to one machine. I'm not sure that I understand what you mean, though.

Hmmm...ok...like this, let me make it simple so I wish you could understand what I mean....the point is:
I have 4 PCs connected each other and also connected to the internet using one wired ADSL router...let say the PCs (A, B, C and D)..what I would like to try is, how to make it dissable from opening a program such as Limewire, etc for computer D..but we make it disable from computer A,B or C instead touching the D....or event controlling/do something in the router, still from computer A,B,C..not from D....
I think this will make you more understand....

So you want to turn off a port on computer D from another computer? What is the OS? Is the user an Admin on computer D? Maybe you could set a Group Policy to prevent them from opening any program that you don't want them to open.
Try to explain exactly what you are trying to do.

Just create a user account, and take it off their menu and desktop. Or, better yet, do what I did for my sister. I uninstalled it completely. Note, you might want to save the material in another folder, as uninstall deletes all saved content. You might also want to try remote desktop to control machine 'D' from machine 'A' so you could open the firewall and block the port.

@zach007
You can use one computer to control the whole internet on your network, but you are going to need 2 nic cards in the same computer. Just use ICS and the computer you setup will act like a router, and you can add limewire to the windows xp firewall blocked list.

If you must have Limewire installed on machine "d", create a user account for everyone except you, and remove the LimeWire icon from the desktop and remove LimeWire from the start menu for that user. Then put a password on your admin account. You can also remove the RUN privileges for the user, and also My Computer.
If you stil think they (whomever they are) would be able to do downloads, then uninstall LimeWire, and re-install it in the Admin's folder.
I don't understand why you want to control a machine, but can't just tell the user not to use a program, or why you can't use it on another machine. You could map the drive of another machine, and allow LimeWire users to upload from the folder on another machine.
Explain exactly what you are trying to do, and we'll try to come up with the best solution for you.

Re: How to control other PC (within LAN) from downloading please..???
You should run a program on their computer and another on yours, so you can control what programs they are able to run.
I don't know why a firewall was suggested...Limewire and those P2P programs can usually run fine even though there is a firewall or the ports aren't open. Plus, the XP firewall is not very good because it's easy for a program to automatically put it in the "allowed" list.
www.pscode.com/vb
I would look on there for "Remote Control" or something. If you are not the admin of the network, then doing this would be illegal without their permission.
I wrote a small Remote Task Manager for my network but it's on a CD somewhere.

Re: How to control other PC (within LAN) from downloading please..???
go into your router's settings, TURN OFF port forwarding for every computer except computer D, and then TURN OFF UPNP on the router, or computer a b c can turn UPNP back on again and reforward ports. Without forwarded ports, limewire can't find files to download. It can sometimes still download ones it already knows about but new searches will fail.
Frankly though i hope you are running 7 spyware and antivirus programs if you are using limewire. Get a bittorrent client instead. At least there if someone uploads something filled with viruses, the linked forum page will be full of words to that effect and the torrent can be rated.

Re: How to control other PC (within LAN) from downloading please..???
if you have 10 pcs you should be running a domain. the domain controller can control anything. Windows live parental controls can block websites and you can prevent users from changing the settings.
