Sorry, I'm not too good with Win 2000, but I know a decent answer to this question.
First of all, if you have the discs that came with your hardware, you'll be fine. Just use those to install the drivers. If there's a piece of hardware that you don't have, there's a few things you can do:
1) If its a generic device, the Win 98 CD will have drivers on it that will enable it. Like if it's a CD, CD-RW, DVD drive, you shouldn't need a disk.
2) Go into your device manager and get the names of each deivce for which you don't have a CD. Then search the company site of each device for driver packages. Save them to a CD or something, and use that to install driversd after the reformatting.
3) If you bought the hardware someplace locally, you can usually get a driver disk from the place that sold it to you, ususally for free.
Hope that helps.

I don't care, I'm still free

Re: OS windows 2000 user question
If the new guy is an Administrator, then he can see all of the files on the machine. If he is a user, he cannot see documents created by another user in that user's My Documents folder. If you stored them somewhere else, you will have to right-click on the folder (as an Admin) and select that only your username can view, edit, or delete from this folder.
