    I have been working on a VB6 tile engine game (using BitBLT and such). You can get the full source for what I have at http://www.comp-info.net/castle.

    There is also a link for the original Tile engine I used for this game, Gollum's, which could be better depending on the type of game you want, and how much you want to customize it.
