Dataenvironment To the Rescue
I am a die hard fan of coding EVERYTHING by hand. Especially data connections, recordsets etc..
However, I work for a rather large corp., 3000 users, and believe it or not they do NOT pay me to write efficient apps!
They are more interested in me getting it up and running and letting the server hardware do the work.
So this is just to say that the DE and the drag and drop capabilities of the Command object let me make over $35 per hour.
Totally AMAZING to me!

They would pay you the same amount to create an app that could be modified in the future. It would just take a little longer. If you can do everything in the DE that they need, then you're ok, but if something comes up that can't be done, then what are you going to do? Spend 100 hours figuring out what could/woud/should have been done in the first place?
Maybe they are planning to use Net in the future, and just want to finish up a few things now? Enjoy it while you can, but I can write an app just as fast without using the DE as I can with it. Once you learn it, you will enjoy the flexibility.

jesus4u,
Unforturnately that's the way it works. Managers get paid to get results fast and they push for the fastest not the best way.
Always time to do it over but never time to do it right!!!!
