Service Pack 6 installation
After a recent crash I reinstalled VB6 and service pack 6.
Oddly enough the DEVENV component does not change from the 1998 version to the newest - so I cannot deploy visual basic solutions.
What have I done wrong ?

Re: Service Pack 6 installation
Why can't you deploy applications?
Your VB service pack level directly affects your development envirnoment, but once an application is developed, on your machine, and you create an installation and setup package for it, you should be able to roll it out.

Re: Service Pack 6 installation
Devenv says "choose vb project" then "specify file system" - all theses are missing and there is no visual basic icon in the "select project" menu.
I don't understand - I can see devenv in the backup cd (but I 'm afraid to run it from there) and the edition number in the cd is higher to that in the installation.
I proceded by first installing vb6 and msdn, then vs6sp6.
Initially my cd no 1 appeared damaged but I managed to copy it's contents to disk without any messages turning up. So I run installation cd1 from the disk and then continue with the other cds.

Re: Service Pack 6 installation
Ran installation again.
After cd1, msdn would n't run (a 16 bit error screen came up).
Exited setup procedure and ran setup msdn manually - that way it was completed.
Then vscsp6.
But the end result is the same - devenv does n't go.
