    Red face

This is probably going to sound pretty funny to most of you, but it's a complete Brain difuzer for me.

How can I read Digits off of a Voice modem?

You know like when you call an Automated response and it tells you to enter your PIN Number and then a Start sign or "#" ?

I saw an ActiveX in VB6 called Phone but I can't get it to work.
I checked out the MSDN and located two articles dealing with UNIMODEM and UNIMODEM V. They are unfortunately written in Cpp and I understood little to none of that.

I'm sure there's an ActiveX available that allows me to access the modem.
UNIMODEM has a function called GETDIGITS but I can't seem to open a lineID for this to work.

    Help ?

    Cheers,
    Mick

I am using ModemWave and ModemPhone controls from Netpoint . 30 day eval software is available. Seems to work pretty well. Their email support is good too. Requires a TAPI compliant modem. I use an ACER internal modem that connects to my sound card. Check out the URL below.

    Exclamation One more thing.

I have tried the Netpoint controls with several modems and the Multitech 5600ZDXV has by far the fastest and most accurate touch tone detection. List price about $159

The Acer internal (ISA and PCI) modems sound OK from a voice perspective, but they require a longer DTMF tone to accurately register a digit. List price about $59

I also used a Zoom external USB modem and it worked well also, except the USB port kept locking up. I'm not sure if this was a modem, driver or port problem. List price $129.

    Lightbulb

I have tested the program on my internal rokwell class modem.
It worked sensationally using my cell phone.
    I am very pleased.

I have yet to decide if to hack the Ax or buy it...

    Keep you posted.
