mySQL port problems
haveing trouble setting up my SQL.
cannot create security settings as i seem to have the port blocked by a firewall. I use Zone alarm, how can you open up ports for use?
I turned off zone alarm but still was blocked.

Re: mySQL port problems
How do you know it is blocked? Have you made sure the Windows Firewall is turned off also? What kind of Internet connection do you have... router, cable modem, phone line etc...?

Re: mySQL port problems
Do you know what port you are using and what port is expected on the other side?

Re: mySQL port problems
Use NETSTAT -ANO while the connection is open, and you'll see what ports are in use at the time.
