sorry, but this wasn't the case. it was highlighting in this color whenever and wherever i tried copying text.

There are settings in your browser (at least for IE) that you can use to change colors. Did you accidently do that?

nope, i am using Fx and in fact, i was not aware that it is possible to change such settings.
BTW, it happened just once and went away when i refreshed the page. also at the same time, it was not happening in other pages (or other tabs).

It's a bug in Firefox. Happens to me often in the text areas. It appears highlighted, but really it isn't.

The solution is to use IE and forget that little bug ridden FF browser.

same here, I used to be scared of typing until I learn that it wasn't really highlighted

Totally unrelated to the problem you had....
Of course, there is also the HL tag that I added at one point....
It will even let you set a color...

i do know about the HL tag, but it isn't someone actually highlighted the text in a different color. when i tried to highlight the text of the page, it used this one instead of the default blue color.
