distributing my software

Hey all

I’m in my last year of University and currently doing my Final Year Project...I’m developing an application, and for purposes of research i would like to understand the different methods of distributing my software for evaluation purposes...does anyone now of any good articles or threads that could backup any assumptions I make!?

The best advice I can give you is this:

Before you let anyone else have a copy of your software make sure it has a unique version number that they can quote (e.g. on the Help\About menu) and that you keep a copy of the source code for the version they have. Every new version that you relase should have its own unique version number.
