[FAQ's: OD] Can I get MS Office Applications for free?
Microsoft makes almost all Office suite apps available for free but the only drawback is that they are trial time limited versions. Still its great to be able to try before you buy. You can do some programming against your desired Office app and see it in action before you purchase it. This will help you to see which versions and apps you want/need.
See the MS Office page for details on downloading or ordering the CDs.

They also have server versions available like Live Communication Server and SharePoint Server.
Free Viewer Utilities are available for download and give a system the ability to open and read Office files without the requirement of having the actual program to do it. Keep in mind though that they are viewers and do not support modifying or saving of files.
