    #Develop ?

Hi people, i was wondering if you would give me your thoughts on this Open Source IDE for C and VB.Net, its called Sharpdevelop (Or #Develop)
It can be found at http://icsharpcode.com/OpenSource/SD/Default.aspx
So far i have managed to learn something new from it, i was wondering how it compares to the VS versions ?

    Re: #Develop ?

I've been using #Develop from it's earliest stages when it was quite flaky, these days it is stable enough and great for learning C#. Despite the fact that it supports VB the main drive is towards C#. Having said that I've never used it for big projects so I can't give you any idea on how well it handles them. #Develop was written with #Develop so it must be pretty good. Some people here are dead set against #Develop perhaps using earlier versions turned them off, but I've found it great for learning .Net

    Re: #Develop ?

considering it hasn't had $$$$ poured into its development like VS has, it is quite good. if only MonoDevelop had the same features as #Develop.

I didnt see anything on it comparing to 2005. I assume that it runs based upon the .net framework?

    Re: #Develop ?

#Develop runs on top of the .NET framework (and possibly Mono, but could be wrong). #Develop includes a useful C#<->VB.NET code converter.

    Re: #Develop ?

    Hiall,

Just downloaded this and its the bomb!!!

    its ace!!!!!

    How powerful is it though.??

obviously not looking for Visual Studio power for business apps, but it s surely a good un for little home apps or the homedeveloper who doesnt want to spend $$$$ on an IDE he might not get his monies worth.

    opinions please.
