Win XP isn't detecting Pen Drive!!

wot could be the problem..........i tried to use my pen drive on my friend's system but it could not detect it............n the problem occurs only in that particular computer only becoz the pen drive seems to works perfectly fine anywhere else.

n m sure it can not be the typical driver problem!!!

What OS is he using? Maybe you need a driver?

n u dont need drivers for XP.............coz only my friends computer isn't detecting it!!

Ok. I knew that 98 needed an update. Maybe your friend doesn't have current updates installed that you do?

its also possible your friends usb adapter isnt working. have you tried any other devices in the usb?

Is there a removeable storage service on XP (on me mac so I can't check)?

And some USB drives do need a driver, my MP3 player does (its still a usb harddrive)

yes my pen drive is working all right.............its working on all other pcs except my friend's

plus i dont know if he actually uses the usb port but he has connected the UPS to the usb port................so the question if the port is working cannot be answered quite correctly......!!!
