I work for a odd compilers in Birmingham and I am looking for somebody to fill a VB.NET / VBA / ASP role that we have. There is a support part to the role as well.
The job can be split in to two sections:
Support - of the existing IT systems, phone and computer. The computers are running XP, 98, 2000 & 2003 SBS. There are a couple of boxes running Fedora Core Linux, these are the firewall / mail scanner / proxy server and the phone server (VoIP call recording for the betting lines - using asterisk)
Development - mainly of the applications to allow us to distribute odds to customers. In the last couple of years I have developed a phone recording system, as well as other applications that save time and money in the production of services for clients (via .NET and VBA)
I believe that the job will be ideally suited for somebody who likes a broad job description, can proactively developed ideas. The hours are based on a 40 hour week based from Sherlock Street, B5 6LT. It is 10mins walk from New Street and there are Bus Stops right out side our front door.
