RealVNC and Safe Mode
Is it possible to get RealVNC running in safe mode? Is it possible to start certain networking services and then start the RealVNC server service? Every time i try i get "This service cannot be run in safe mode." and exits.

Re: RealVNC and Safe Mode
I doubt it since the service probably relies upon other windows services that are not started in safe mode.

Re: RealVNC and Safe Mode
Possibly, but I dont know which are VNC's dependancy services since I had uninstall it last week. You can check by going into
the services MMC and clicking on the Dependancies tab when you have real vncs service property dialog displayed.

Re: RealVNC and Safe Mode
I'm not sure that RealVNC is able to be run in Safe mode. The following website claims that its VNC will run in safe mode, but I haven't used it. http://www.vncscan.com/Default.htm

Re: RealVNC and Safe Mode
Yeah he knows...he's just saying that VNCscan is a version of VNC that has the capability to be booted into safe mode and still have access using VNC. He said that vncscan's website said that vncscan is the only vnc software that allows access to computers through safe mode.

Re: RealVNC and Safe Mode
You are correct. I've done lots of searches and I can't find any other program that enables VNC access in safe mode. VNCScan kicks butt for sure!
You do need to remember to set the boot.ini back to normal mode or it will keep rebooting into safe mode every time that you reboot. You can either do that via the VNCScan console while the computer is booted up in safe mode and connected to the network or you can do it on the computer by running the msconfig utility.
Either way, it's real easy to do.
