Easy Recovery Pro 6.04 won't run

    hi all.
I installed erppro6.04 in my pc to try to recover some deleted files.

For some reason, when I click on Recovery and then any of the options buttons, I get the dialog box "Scanning System..." and then the program immediately shuts down. I went to the website to register, and they said that ERPPro doesn't need to be registed.
    Don't know the problem.

I wasn't having any hardware problem, I just wanted to get back some deleted files. Don't know what's stopping it. As soon as it says scanning system, then I can hear the A: drive being read and after that (I assume when it moves on to HDD0) it just closes. No error message. There is no mention of this in help files or on ONTRACKs website.

Has anybody else heard of this problem? I used ERPPro version 5 several years ago and was amazed at its ability to reover data.

Sad if I can't use it anymore.

sounds like a conflict, or maybe even a hardware incompatability.

if you have another computer, you could take the hard drive out and stick it in the other computer (as a slave) then run it on that computer and see if it works.

you could also try running it as a different OS (if you are using XP/2K) by right clicking on the program or shortcut, and clicking properties, then click the compatability tab then play around and see if you can get it to run correctly. (this is mostlikely NOT the problem)

you could also try running it in safe mode, but not all applications are safe mode compatable.

if it doesnt work in safe mode try this:

ctrl+alt+del>File>New Task (Run...)>(type)msconfig>Startup(tab)>(then disable everything, then restart your machine) (NOTE: make sure you re-enable the stuff you want after you are done [if desired], by following the same steps, accept check everything rather than uncheck them)
