hi, does any one know how to emulate ps2 games from a cd driver on a computer. i unlike most people dont have a play station 2 but would like to be able to play them on my computer but do not know what to use. i have borowed a game from my next door neighbour to play around with trying to get it to play it but i dont know how to. does anyone know any good emulators that can read off of a cd/dvd drive?

www.zophar.net if they still exist used to be the big emulator place.

I am at work so I cant go to gaming sites to check if it is still there.

Or possibly www.retrogames.com if I recall. Its been years.

You need to get them directly from your PS2, using a special cable.
Or if you own a PS2 it *might* be legal to download the exact version of the BIOS from a P2P program. I'm not sure about the legality of this.

BTW. No program exists that can properly emulate a PS2 game. You'll be lucky to get a title screen to come up for any of your games. Sorry to disappoint, but the programs just aren't developed enough yet.

A lot of PS2 games are DVD-sized, so that's pretty big to store on your computer.

Yeah I forgot about the BIOS issue. I know emulators are not illegal, but geting the BIOS is.

I wasnt sure how far along PS2 emulation was. I have been out of the loop for a long time.

Dandono, to play a PlayStation 2 Game on your PC you need the following:

    • 512 MB of DDR or DDR2 RAM
    • Pentium 2.8GHz or faster/equivalent
    • scph39001.bin or scph35002.bin (which are illegal if you don't own a PlayStation)
    • A game
    • PCSX 2

Even when you have all of those, the game still won't run properly. You can't stick a PC game in a PlayStation and expect it to work, likewise you can't stick a PS2 game into a PC and expect it to work. They operate on entirely different hardware.
