    Question

    Hello!

I have a cellular phone that can be connected with computer. I've found some programs for it but they're not what I want. So I'd like to make my own.
How can I communicate with my phone, installed on COM3?

    tough job!

Firstly you need to know the ins and outs of the MSCOMM control.

Secondly, you will have to find out the "language" of the phone, in other words the long strings of ascii characters that is passed to and from the phone.

I have tried this process with my Palm IIIx organiser, only to get a bunch of binary noise that makes no sense (to me) because I dont know how to interpret the stream.

Try to get some schematics of thte phone, then you'll be one step closer.

I design cell phone networks for a living and have to use equipment like this every day. Every cell phone manufacturer has their own software in the phones. It is VERY proprietary. A licence for the pin outs and the data format will run you anywhere from 30-50K. If you want to reprogram your phone that bad I guess you can pay that much. Otherwise, toss the thing in the garbage. By the time you figure it all out, your phone will be obsolete anyway.
