    Selling my software online

Does anyone here have any experience when it comes to selling software online? I was thinking that you should be able to pay for the program with credit card and then download the program right away.

Here are 2 sites that might have what i´m looking for:

A couple of things to consider before releasing.
Did you TradeMark™ or Copyright© for your product?
Did you get a ® Registered Trademark for any logos and product name?

Dont let some third party company steal your app for their own sales.

Do you have a ISP that can provide e-commerce for a nominal charge?

I have a logo that shows while the program is loading. On the logo i have a ©.
In the "about window" i have a "Copyright © John Melin 2005."

I have thought about registering. That is probably the safest thing to do. I don´t have any experience about this so all help is welcome

Here in the USA we have allot of copyright laws and such. But you cant just place the © or ® without getting into trouble.
The ™ trademark symbol is the one that is free but doesnt carry much weight when it comes time to bring someone to court for using your
stuff. Checkout http://www.copyright.gov and http://www.uspto.gov/main/trademarks.htm for all the details.

On a related topic, are you going to offer a free demo version, or will there be nothing available except the full blown version that will have to be paid for?

Demo versions can be a very nice marketing stradegy as it lets folks take a look at what the app does, how it looks, how it "feels", etc.

I'd say get an professional company to partner up with.
You said it yourself, you got no experience (and probably no capital for all the cost involved) which they will have.
From what I read/heard is that this copyrighting thing is a whole field of it's own and done by law firms specializing in and are heck expensive.

Get a demo version ready and find out about such companies.

This is good advice, but I would not sell my product to the company, but rather grant them a license (for a fee for them of course) to market it. However, all copywrites etc should be in your name.

Is it a common thing that people "steel" your work?

Following on from what RobDog888 said you may want to check out how the copyright laws apply in your country (if your not the USA).
The way it works in Ireland is; Copyright is free and automatic upon the creation of an original work, and the work doesn't even have to be published. The © is not required but serves as a reminder to others.

is stealing common... well if your programs good people will steal, copy reverse engineer or make similiar programs.

Well I'm no expert on copyright law but I remember reading that the ® can not be used unless its actually registered and the anual fee
is paid (above $1,000 a year). Also, as long as the work is not originally published as public domain in the source country and not published
within 30 from that date in the USA as public domain.
