Resolved Whats the BEST Antivirus solution

i normally use Avast! but have had problems with it lately, years ago i used Mcafee.

Now, im looking for something new, reliable, fast, always up to date, less hungry for system resources Antivirus program.

Im open to all suggestions, whether its free or shareware

I hear Mcafee and Norton are not so good, but please reccomend, whats hot, and whats not

    Cheers

I use AVG, they have a free version and a paid version. I've never had any problems with it. But then again I hardly ever get a virus either.

    www.grisoft.com

I believe thats the address for it.

AV solutions are very subjective like which programming language to use.
My setup is AVG with ZoneAlarm and all emails set to display in text only format.
A few Months ago I was getting viruses in my email daily without infection, so I'm happy.
McAfee/Norton are okay but there's something about buying an application, and then having to constantly fork out money to keep it up to date.
In work McAfee Enterprise 8 caused me no end of grief. I rolled it out using EPO then every second or third day outlook would stop working on different PCs. Eventually went back to version 7 and happy days again.

I use Microsoft AntiSpyware and Adware. They both work really good. I like them better than Norton.

Those dont get rid of viruses, only adware and spyware.

My favorite antivirus would have to be AVG free edition, works perfect, doesn't take up very much system resources, i've used both mcafee and norton, and I would have to say that AVG is the better.

AVG is the way to go. I used Macafee for a while, and I hated it.

NOD32, by far the best out there. Also, do NOT get Norton, under any flavour, unless you wanna slow your computer down for some old games that rely on the clock speed of the processor to run correctly
I use Microsoft Visual Basic 2005. (Therefore, most code samples I provide will be based around the .NET Framework v2.0, unless otherwise specified)

Ok, thanks dudes, seems Avast! was not so good after all, missed out 4 viruses (compared to ZoneAlarm's Antivirus).

Turns out that Spybot is not to rely on neither, Adaware found 65 bad objects, spybot found (0)!

    Thanks again
