Why no juz use the Winsock/Inet control to connect from the remote PC to the Server. The MSComm is not a good media for file transfer.

Question mscomm and internet transfer control

do you mean that it is totally impossible to use mscomm and intet together? because all i really need to do is connect to that server and pass username and password to it. the program is actually very similar to windows dial up. can i do the same using winsock/inet? thanks again.

Noop, I didn't said that, both can run at the same time, 'coz they did not overlap each other. What the purpose mfor you to submit the User ID and Password to the server?

It is for the file sharing? It is both client and Server are locate at the same LAN or both locate at different place.
