My user has mentioned a few times, his desire that my pgm be able to read a written number from the top of scanned images.
Currently an employee would have to view the scanned image(that functionality is working), and then type in the number.
This seem like a job for OCR logic embedded into my pgm.
At some stage I will be searching for help on that. (And I guess I would be 'no orphan').
I am now working on more serious issues (my posts on Access slow on LAN), and am getting some kind suggestions. So Thats where i should be focussing at this moment.
However I came across something that may be of interest to others, so I thought I might get the ball rolling on this.
The gift is from SimpleOCR.
They have a product which costs more than $1,000.
I'm not sure if it would be suitable for the selective use I have in mind (read number from top right of a scanned image). If it did the job, then I am pretty sure the user would buy it.

If anyone tries it, perhaps they could provide some feedback as to whether it could be embedded into my pgm to do that selective read that I desire ?
