Two ethical questions.

Question 1: If you knew a woman who was pregnant, who had 8 kids already, three of whom were deaf, two blind, one mentally retarded, and she had syphilis; would you recommend that she have an abortion?

Candidate A: Associates with crooked politicians, and consults with astrologists. He's had two mistresses. He also chain smokes and drinks 8 to 10 martinis a day.

Candidate B: He was kicked out of office twice, sleeps until noon, used opium in college, and drinks a quart of whisky every evening.

Candidate C: He is a decorated war hero. He's a vegetarian, doesn't smoke, drinks an occasional beer and hasn't had any extramarital affairs.

Answer to #1 would still be a yes. Abortions happen all the time, we don't know who we lose in them. In fact, one of the biggest 'breakers' of the trend of geniuses coming into our world is condoms. If you think about it.

Well, what do you mean by "trend"? IMO there is more chance today of having these geniuses just by the fact that the population nowdays is several times bigger than when Beethoven was alive.

I wonder what percentage of VBFers have genes likely to produce genius progeny?

Lets say me and PDWII (*sigh*) get it on and have a few sprogs, she's an engineering graduate and I'm a computer programmer. She's gorgeous beyond measure and I'm a fat bloater with no fillings. Pretty good DNA pool there I'd say. We are both in the 1st IQ percentile (interestingly, almost all experienced programmers are in the 1st percentile: fact). PDWII has a nice bum too. My bum is not available for debate.

Our kids would be geniuses with a craving for nicotein and beer. I'll settle for that.
