MS Word - Protect Document?
Hi,
This isn't really a VBA question so I suppose it's a bit a cheeky posting it here, but I've tried in some other MS Word forums and no-one there has answered my question. Since you are all so knowledgable on here I thought I'd give it a shot!
I want to protect an MS Word document so that no-one can:
1) Change or edit the text in any way.
2) Copy/paste it into a blank document and then just edit that one.
I've tried looking for a 'Protect Document' option, something similar to Excel's protection features, but I can't find anything like that.
How do I protect the document so that it can't be changed in any way?
Cheers
-Rob

Re: MS Word - Protect Document?
I dont think you can prevent them from selecting the text and pasting into another document, but you could
set a modify password. Go to Tools > Options > Security tab > under "File sharing options for this document"
supply a password.
Just thinking, you could make a document so it only shows in Print Preview. They can not select text or anything,
but the trick would be to remove all menus and disable closing back to document view.
