Forum for discussing Web Services Issues
Hi All,
In my ongoing short fling with web services I hear & read a lot about the significant emergence of Web Services in cross platform integration. In view of this and my troubles to find a discussion forum for the same, I would like to bring to the notice of the moderators and all other concerned authorities the need for a dedicated forum topic for Web Services. This could be for consuming web services written in VB/VB.Net/Java. Thanks !!
Regards

I think an own forum for that is actually good idea! Maybe not only for Web Services but more of a general forum for Service Oriented Architecture!
It could contain lots of different topics, like webservices, methodologys, Patterns, Integration,SuccessStorys, experiences,....
I think the actual coding Problems like ("why is my C# Web Service not working") should be discussed in the actual programming forums.
But questions like ("Why cant I access my C# Web Service created with BizTalk Server from Java")
could be very well discussed in this forum! Over time it would build up to a great knowledge base for SOA.
Just my thoughts on that topic.

I agree entirely with Stephan. I think he put forth my thoughts more clearly. Thanks Stephan.

Re: Forum for discussing Web Services Issues
Why can't you use the already existing "Networking" Forum for this? Heck, it used to be called "Distributed Programming". Also, in your quest to learn, explore, and discuss "Service Oriented" Arcitectures, I would ask you to remember "Message Oritnted" Architectures, and also .NET Remoting. These are just as important as they can do things SOA cannot.
Nobody knows what software they want until after you've delivered what they originally asked for.
Don't solve problems which don't exist.
