urgent help

i am trying to automate a program that will allow the user to input some text into an input field, i want this to be done in word 2000 or 97. what i want to know is how do i get a button in the toolbar assignened to a vb and also when the user clicks on this button the form or input box should appear. I can get the button part working on excel but for some reason the button does not seem to appear in word.
any suggestions or any links where i can fine out this stuff would be much appreciated.

try writting it as a vb program start the project as a com add-in then set the com add-in to word. When you register the program you will at least get a menu option appearing on the standard word menu bar. You can still write all the VBA you want.
