    Resolved improve the search feature?

some lifeless people like me are interested in knowing how many chitchat posts they've made. While with the older versions of vbulletin it was easy to figure this out, its not possible with this version, at least the way it's set up.

If you search for all the posts made by a user, the max search result will be 500. Is there a way that you could change this so it would show the total number of posts made by the user? (that is, the real post count + the chitchat posts)

    TIA

    Re: improve the search feature?

It is a global setting for the forum. And only an admin can change it. It is set to 500 because the only time you would need more then 500 results is to check your post count.

This will also save the server for some unnecessary work.

PS: There is threads about this all ready.....use this search function for something usefull...

The only way I know of to get around the limitation is to do date range searches. For ex. You could
select "A year ago" and "and older". For older members this may not help completely, but it
can get you older posts/threads beyond the 500 result limit, so to speak.

No prob. But I think there is no other way to get a segragation of dates other then a year ago and older.
Since your signup date is a few years ago, you still wont be able to get all of them?

    Re: improve the search feature?

Could it be possible to have two counts? A normal post count and chit-chat post count?
Life is one big rock tune
