    Re: Printing a document using Word Object

    Here is how to do this from VB.
    VB Code:
    1. Option Explicit
    2. 'Add a Reference to MS Word xx.0 Object Library
    3. Private moApp As Word.Application
    4.
    5. Private Sub Command1_Click()
    6.     Dim oDoc As Word.Document
    7.     Set oDoc = moApp.Documents.Open("C:\Test.doc")
    8.     oDoc.PrintOut True
    9.     oDoc.Close False
    10.     Set oDoc = Nothing
    11. End Sub
    12.
    13. Private Sub Form_Load()
    14.     Set moApp = New Word.Application
    15.     moApp.Visible = False
    16.     moApp.WindowState = wdWindowStateMinimize
    17. End Sub
    18.
    19. Private Sub Form_QueryUnload(Cancel As Integer, UnloadMode As Integer)
    20.     If TypeName(moApp) <> "Nothing" Then
    21.         moApp.Quit False
    22.     End If
    23.     Set moApp = Nothing
    24. End Sub

    Re: Printing a document WITHOUT using the Word Object

    Here is how to do it without using the WOM.
    VB Code:
    1. Option Explicit
    2.
    3. Private Declare Function ShellExecute Lib "shell32.dll" Alias "ShellExecuteA" (ByVal hwnd As Long, ByVal lpOperation As String, _
    4. ByVal lpFile As String, ByVal lpParameters As String, ByVal lpDirectory As String, ByVal nShowCmd As Long) As Long
    5.
    6. Private Const SW_HIDE As Long = 0
    7. Private Const SW_SHOWNORMAL As Long = 1
    8. Private Const SW_SHOWMINIMIZED As Long = 2
    9. Private Const SW_SHOWMAXIMIZED As Long = 3
    10.
    11. Private Sub Command1_Click()
    12.     ShellExecute Me.hwnd, "Print", "C:\Test.doc", vbnulllstring, "C:\", SW_HIDE
    13. End Sub
