    is a good place to start, as for books the o'reilly in a nutshell series are usually good

    Well I have a good handle on Javascript itself and even using it with ASP.NET.
    I'm just looking for a more advanced reference that deals specifically with ASP.NET controls like the datagrid.

    Look for a book about controls or making Server Controls.
