Unhappy Major Network security issues for online

    Ayup

    Right we have a problem

Where I work we send computers out on site to bars. Now that we are going online we need some form of security against attacks and viruses. the systems will have windows XP on so this is becoming a major issue as it is prone to new viruses and we cant update while they are on site.

So the question is, does anyone know of an antivirus that is COMPLETELY silent and possibly controlled by a server app here at our head office. It cannot at any point effect the system with popups or taking away the focus from our application. At no point can it interfear in anyway even if it detects a virus.

We looked at the plain windows XP firewall with SP2 but I have a feeling this isnt all that reliable and could potentially be flawed. E.g pop up about our application when we update the software. I also have a strong feeling that a firewall on its own wont be enough to stop viruses on an unmonitored always on system with windows XP.

Anyone had any experiance with anything that could help???

Norton Corporate Edition is connected to the server. It still gets updates on its own, I think, but it's just a small part that runs on each machine.

unfortunetely we have taken a look at that and its not suitible because it does interfere and take the focus for popups etc.

    Thanks though
