Alternative to PSP
PSP 8.0 is a bloated piece of garbage. (IMHO)
Does anyone have an alternative?
Preferably free?
GIMP? or something? is that any good?
We basically need MSpaint utilities, to clean up mostly B&W images
and then transparent functions.
PSP 8 does not make it easy to do anything anymore.
Not to mention it takes forever to load up on my laptop.

Re: Alternative to PSP
You could always use an old version of PSP... ...like everyone in the Graphics section does...
I have heard that GIMP is really good. I had problems with my banner on my web page a few days ago. And Cander fixed it in NO time with GIMP. He said it had most of the functions that PS and Photoshop had. And at least it was easy enough for him to find the function needed in that situation. So I would have tested it if I where you. I will when I get the time.

Re: Alternative to PSP
If possible, stick with PSP7. I've tried PSP8 and I have to agree, it is really poor. It's obvious they are trying to be like Adobe and steal their spotlight, because IMO, trying to use PSP8 is like trying to learn Photoshop, and if you're gonna go to all that trouble, you might as well use Photoshop because it's better.
I use Microsoft Visual Basic 2005. (Therefore, most code samples I provide will be based around the .NET Framework v2.0, unless otherwise specified)
