Read/Write Hardware Microcode on Harddisk platter.

    Hello:

I would like to try to write a utility program that will allow me to read/write the hardware microcode section of harddisk platters.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Thank you

Just out of curiosity, why would you want to do that? Are you going to use it for your own OS? It kinda depends on the processor you have aswell...

Pentium processors have a couple of microcode bugs anyway, which is what you hope to fix?

Let me see if I can explain.

When hard drives or cloned, the microcode is not. I write windows applications and I want to sell my software on a hard drive that has my own microcode that my software will look for. This way if they clone the drive my software will not work, because the microcode is not there.

Now can you help me with some information concerning this matter.
