I am having quite a bit of trouble using the Winsock control to check how many messages are on the server. I just want to let the user know that there are messages on the server. I don't want to download the message(s), or even find any information about the message(s). I just want to pop up a message box saying "There are 2 messages on the server."

I've tried reading the tutorial on VBSquare, but it totally confused me. I went to Planet-Source-Code and looked for code, but it was all complicated stuff that involved downloading the mail and displaying it. Way too much for me. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it.
