unknown error while right clicking
Hello,
For some reason, when I right click on an .mp3 file, it doesn't work all of the sudden. I can right click on any other file and get the popup window of properties, open, rename, delete, etc... Below is the error that I'm getting. I'm running WinXP and have tried doing a system restore but that's not helping. Anyone have any ideas?? Doesn't make sense why this would happen to only .mp3 file extensions. The "explorer.exe" I originally thought was Internet Explorer but I believe it's referring to the "explorer" within Windows as files can be "explored.
appname: explorer.exe appver:6.0.2600.0
modname: kernel32.dll
modver: 5.1.2600.0 offset: 00012c36
Thanks in advance for you help.

Try seeing registry settings related to .mp3 fileformat.

exactly, the settinsg are either corrupt or pointing to a corrupt location.
If you are using WINAMP (personal fav)...the last few versions they released have terrible times running within the kernel of anything less than XP...

Thanks for your responses, however, I'm finding a TON of things in the registry related to .mp3 file extension. I just use Windows Media Player. Do you think reinstalling the media player would work? Do you have a more specific place in the registry for me to look at for where it might be corrupt?
Thanks guys!
