Aim:
To produce the eagerly awaited Sandpaper class library (dll).
The library will contain genuinely useful classes such as:
* Rude Message Box
* Typo Insertor
* L33t Sp33k convertor
* Others as we think them up...
we need imaginitive coders to help us achieve this aim.
SUBMISSIONS:
Please submit a single class file (*.VB) along with a *.txt file documenting the class fully. The files MUST be in a passworded zip file and you should PM WOSSNAME ONLY with the password each time you submit something. This is to protect our copyrights.
Anyone from ChitChat can join (because they know the subtle Zen of sandpaper and its illustrious history). We will stick to VB.net and Vb6 for now, and will probably end up a Sandpaper library DLL for each languages (SandNet.dll and SandVB6.dll respectively).
Rules:
Wossname and Mendhak have the final say in everything, but we will give due consideration to all submissions. Please PM one of us to get yourself recognised as a Sandpaper Coder and await further info.
Originally posted by visualAd I've got a couple more:
* Unsecure Password Generator
* File corruptor.
I hope you like my suggestions. How many millions do you think you'll make from this ambitious project and whats my cut?
These are exactly the kind of suggestions we need.
"Cut" is something we'll decide later on, suffice it to say (for the moment) that each member will get recognition for their efforts.
I should point out at this point that Team Sandpaper will not be producing output that can be easily used or adapted in such a way as to be of use as hacking / cracking tools.
I know this is not what you intended your suggestions to be, but it raises a good point anyway
Posted by BodwadUK I could make an application that 'scratches images' with sandpaper
And if bodwad can't manage that i could do it properly .

Yep, you volunteering for that? You are now on the list. You will have to negotiate with VisualAd for the Pensi thing. He has already suggested "Pensi Extension". The rest sounds funny though.
Just thought of a great name for that: Bofhuscator.
("Bstard Operator from Hell" )
I think a "Stone, Paper, Scissors" messagebox would be cool, preferably with graphics. Mainly for making tough decisions. It should be truly random and should have the following features:
* Optional "Computer always wins"
* 1% of the time it plays the 'nuke user' card and shows a mushroom cloud instead of a rock or whatever. In this case the computer wins.
That would pwn!
I'm going to take this one.
Update: See "available projects" in Post #2 ^^

Well, this started out as a project communication thread and now it's lost its way a bit. Can I please politely ask those with the more silly comments to delete them from this thread? Then Marty can move it back to where it should be.
This should not be a chitchat thread.
Heman is in danger of being thrown off the team for insubordination
When things calm down a bit I'll start adding more ppl to the team.
did you just delete that post then make the same one again

The Extend function will increase the buffer size of your pensi object by the size specified by length.
object - a valid Pensi object. length - the length in inches of the Pensi extension. Recommended between 1 and 5.
This function returns true on success and false on faliure.
Warning
Faliure of this function may result in pensi detachment, i.e: it will loose its reference to the parent sandpaper class. Use with caution and only with the recommended length values.

I think we should let people use any namespacing system they want for now and then we'll be able to deduce the best way later and standardise the rest, its not a major consideration right now. Go with what feels right at the time.
My Clox0r Class is just...
Dim cf as Sandpaper.Clox0r = new SandPaper.Clox0r(...)
We'll have to come up with a system for all those backward VB6 coders too j/k
When we distribute it, don't want to confuse the others. Let's keep it as (for example) Sandpaper.MeaningOfLife and create the classes in there.
Of course, that could be decided later.
Also, we'll need an equivalent class in VB6 for whatever's in VB.NET and vice-versa. I'm just hoping I haven't lost touch of VB6... it's been a long time since I wrote anything in VB6.
One more thing: Let's have the final release version of the DLL as 1.0.0.42

I was hoping Bodwad and Electroman could help us with that, I too have 'left the hood behind. Could be tricky, maybe we could specialise towards .net but have a 'compact legacy' version for VB6. We'll come back to this next week maybe.
