Unlock Word document [Resolved]
I have a homework assignment that we just have to finish a paper. So i went to the schools website and logged on so that i could get the file to finish working on it before uploading it back to the server, which ive done many times, so i got the document and tryed to type but whenever i try to do anything it says that the document is locked for edit and i cant do anything to it. whats goin on?

I'm having a problem here. Do I put the serial number in the box that says 'serial number,' or do I put it in the box that says 'company'? - Oh, those poor tech support people

Is this the first time you have tried to use it?
If so, you might have waited to long to register...when I bought my new laptop, OfficeXP was installed and I didnt mess with it forever, and it locked up like that. Maybe im wrong, meh, I dont like it, I would recommend office2k, much better.

I like office 2k too, but when i got my laptop i didnt have it so i just got word cuz it was all i could afford and i got the xp version. and when i finally did get office 2k i left word xp on cuz i like how you can set a password to be able to open documents on it... and no its not the first time, ive used it a lot, ive got things off my school server too, but its never done this before.

well, ive fixed it. i wanted to make a new doc to type in, completely unrelated to the problem, and it said that was locked too. then a bell went off and i remembered that the same thing happened like last year, and some file gets corupted and that is what causes it. so i uninstalled word reinstalled it and it was fine.
