    Pinnacle trouble

My Pinnacle PCTV card was working fine but as of recently every time I start the its TV watching application it produces one of those XP error messages. Moreover, after a few minutes sound is muted and can only be restored by closing and starting the program anew.

I suppose the way to go now would be:
    1. Unistall PCTV
    2. Reinstall/Repair XP (maybe the problem is with dll's that were overwritten?)
    3. Reinstall PCTV

    Am I right?

I think that I saw a driver update on Windows update last night that had to do with TV cards... after an update. Maybe that would help.
I didn't read into it, as I was updating a computer after six months and it had 14 updates to add and load, not counting the required ones.

Now I recall there is a pending update I'm reminded about at startup. You may be right. I'd rather try some patch than going through the trouble of unistalling/installing.
