Creating a self-extracting exe with WinZip
I have created an application with VB 6.0. I have included a database along with it. I have zipped it up using WinZip 8.1. I now want to use create a self extracting exe...which I have done. However, I want the application to automatically run after running the self-extracting exe. Right now, I run the exe and then have to manually run the application. Any ideas?

Shift-K makes an .exe that is self-extracting.

You need to purchase the Winzip Self Extractor to do that. Its a seperate product from classic winzip.

Yeah...I was reading that on their web site. I'm in the process of putting in a software request for the software...which will take about 4-8 weeks. Gotta love that!

Try the evaluation until then. Check if it nags during the unzip process.

The evaluation program worked just great. I just had to add a line or two of code to get it up and running...and voila! The problem with the evaluation version is that I cannot legally distribute my application out in the field until I get the full blown version. So...I get to play the waiting game.
