[C++] Programmers wanted for Open Source project

    Hello,

We are working on creating a new messenger. We have been developing this in vb for almost 3 years now and was working fine. But now we have come up with a new idea to make it a really 100 % p2p messenger with ipv4, something that's hasn't been done as far as we know (even not with kazaa). We have made a sample project ini vb to test this and it worked, the only problem was, vb is too slow to take all the bandwith. We couldn't get more then 80 KB/s over a 120 KB/s line. Because the timers we use are too slow to provide more then 80 KB/s. Now we are going to make the program (Amp http://www.ampmessenger.com) again, but now Open Source in C++. But first we want to test wheter our project could work on c++, in other words, could we get more then 80 KB/s with C++. We are learning C++, but we hope that a programmer could help us to create this test project. We are already registered at sourceforge and please take a look. Our messenger will be really different then others and we have great plans, we only need a C++ programmer to help us making our test project.

We cannot pay you, but when it works, you could be part of a revolution in the messenger world.

    Let me know.

    Hi kishore.kr,

Have you ever made any kind of software? Please inform me about your programming / IT background and we will check wheter we can use you any possible way. We want a large scale of programmers, but a little experience would be nice. Let me know:

If you think its just the Timers that are weighing you down (which seems strange), why not use the APIs in VB? SetTimer, KillTimer are just the same as C++..

    Just a though..

Well kishore.kr can you send 1 of your c++ apps?
Just for testing, then we may give you a small thing to make, for the project to see how you work with programming and then we could make a final decision for what to use you for.

But I have seen you want to cooperate in a lot of other projects to. But if you give us more info about you, it's pretty sure you may cooperate.

    To Phreak:
Been there, done that. Doesn't work. Vb is too slow, especially when you want to start multithreading (we used classes), and that is the most important thing of our app. VB is very slow in overall, but with multithreading. That's not done.
So that's why we switch to c++.
