Triansmit authentication for a webpage

Hi folks,

I'm a begginer VB .NET programmer but I'm not new to programming per say. I need some type of guidance as far as what to use???

The issue at hand is:

I'm trying to create a program that will send a username and passowod for a given HTML. Essentially populating the 2 specific text boxes and submitting it. Better yet I'm trying to create something similar to Internet Explorer or Mozilla's Password Manager.

Any thought as far as how and where to even begin? What libs should I use? Anything would be helpful!
