    Any good Registry Checkers available?

I thought that I could speed up the PC by removing bad links, and d/l'ed one that M$ recommends (Reg First Aid) and it found a mess of things that it claimed that it could fix, then asked for $21 registration fee. When I said "NO" it only fixed a dozen of the entries. Supposedly you can scan again, and repeat the process, but I'd have to do this too many times. I'd never get done before the trial period ended!

Anyone have any ideas about doing it on the cheap?

    Thanks in advance

I would highly recommend against this type of program. Improper use could effectivly destroy your registry and cause ill effects such as programs not working or Windows not booting. Before even thinking of using these, make a complete backup of the registry incase it gets ill.
I use Microsoft Visual Basic 2005. (Therefore, most code samples I provide will be based around the .NET Framework v2.0, unless otherwise specified)
